Welcome to Randi's cozy kitchen at Villa Lovise on Stranda
Here we will learn how to make the local specialty Svele, which looks a bit like American pancakes, but taste different. The Svele will be made on a traditional takke, on open frying pan.
Randi shows you how the batter is made, and you make as many Svele as you want. Along the way, Randi will talk about local baking traditions and tell you stories from the daily life in Stranda.
When the Svele is ready, it`s time to sit down around the kitchen table. Butter and sugar are the most common accessories, but many also like to eat the Svele together with Norwegian brown cheese, sour cream or homemade jam. Tasty coffee and cold apple cider will also be served.
The idea behind this activity is to lower our shoulders and enjoy some homemade baking in an ordinary kitchen at Sunnmøre. Common to all who attend is the love of traditional food and the joy of meeting new people in new surroundings.
