Join a local guide to beautiful Ansok, a deserted mountain farm high above Storfjorden in Stranda.
We will meet at Liabygda ferry dock, drive to the top of Ansokvegen and park at Lomingsmia. The first part of the trip takes us on a gravel road to the Ansok farms. Then we hike on a grassy path to the neighboring farm Klevberg before catching the last 20 minutes up to Hammeren, a deserted farm from 1748.
At Hammeren we will eat our lunch, containing local cured meat, fresh bread and some local sweets. After we will take a lot of pictures and just enjoy the amazing view before returning back.
During the whole trip the guide will tell stories about the hard life on a mountain farm and about all the children who grew up here, only with the fjord as the nearest neighbor. If we are lucky, we will meet both sheeps and lambs as there is still some farming activity at one of the Ansok farms.
The aim of this trip is to find peace, breathe fresh air, eat local food and enjoy the wonderful view.
Remember good hiking shoes and clothes after the weather.
